Finale Impressions (spoilers)

(Well, it's been 3 weeks since the last post was made by anyone in this forum, which doesn't bode well for this topic, but hey, Galactica. What can you do?)

Well, after last night's riveting season 3 finale, I've been in a proverbial mind-frak over what all this means for the story. What do you think about the story? What does it all mean?

As for a review of the episode. I thought it got off to a slow start, but really kicked into gear in the last 20 minutes. The trial was a bit ridiculous. Lee's speach was well done, but the fact that he was allowed to give it was a bit screwy. The revelations of the last few minutes we're excellent, and so was the final CG pull away shot. Too bad they're making us wait practically a whole year for more.

I just finished watching the last two episodes of season 3, and after avoiding websites and print for weeks to avoid spoilers, am glad to finally be able to peruse the forums again. A casual flip through TV Guide did give away the final scene with Starbuck (damn them!) but thankfully not the biggest revelation of the episode--the four characters drawn together by a song.

I agree with all your points above-particularly about the trial. Seemed more to serve as a facilitator to bring certain facts to light. I did love Baltar's lawyer, I think we all knew that somehow the verdict would be not guilty...how could it not be?

I'm particularly intrigued by the use of the song "All Along the Watchtower"...Could the nebula somehow have amplified radio waves from Earth? The closer they got, the more prevalent the static/music became? Maybe it messed with some of their wiring, triggering our four new power players prematurely? Whatever it is, this new development knocked the wind out of me--completely unexpected. The last half of the episode was brilliant and, and enough to keep me wondering and talking about it until the series returns.

Next season I'm looking forward to a less scattered story--focus on the key players for a while. There will be plenty of new territory to explore.

I have not caught up yet with all of season 3 but I am anticipating it living up to all expectations, does sci fi get any better than BSG. I am an avid fan and truley love the whole concept. Gives the mind much to ponder upon and for some of us like minded thinkers we can take it seriously to the point that life as we know it could alter. I am going of on a tangent now but will review the lat episodes when I have watched them.
